Discovering a new breakfast spot is always a great way to catch up with your friends on a weekend. This time we went to Fego Caffe in St John’s Wood. Small but cosy Fego has anything from eggs, salads, french toast and various veggie options. It’s located right on the high street offering great post-brunch options from window shopping, to skincare/makeup shopping (Hello SpaceNK) to a cheeky ice-cream cone.

Black is such a timeless colour/non-colour and can only be made better by the addition of details, accessories and colours. In this case I opted for lace, a gold body chain, a cap and patent red ballerina flats.
Wearing a dress as a top also shows how to transform items you already have in your closet into different looks. Another way to transform a sleeveless dress is by wearing a top underneath; for example a roll neck top to make it winter-time appropriate.
I try and dress by keeping the high/low idea in mind – if I’m going to wear a casual outfit I try and pair it with a nicer pair of shoes. Or a going out dress can be worn during the day with a pair of boots, flats or trainers.
In this case I opted for the dress and flats and toned it down with the ripped high-waisted jeans, the hat that dresses down the whole outfit.
A casual with dressy details outfit – perfect for a relatively sunny Sunday walk in town.
To tone down an outfit look for contrasting details or patterns; even textures will help to change the look. For example you can wear your leather joggers with a pair of heels to make it nighttime appropriate or trainers for the day, which will be more casual and might be suitable for a different situation.
