Leather clothing makes most of us, if not all, think of rock n’roll. Chains, holes, studs and zips are some of the many ways of transforming a look into a more biker one-plus the motorcycle is not necessary.
Leather, mainly leather jackets have been a major trend for the last four years, but this year designers have taken the trend in totally different levels. Leather pants are their main occupation, but each designer promotes a completely different style.
How designers did it: Christophe Decarin of Balmain, retains the rock attitude of leather in a lighter version for his Fall/Winter collection. He matches patent leather pants in black, red or gold with blazers and furs and loses his trademark chains and holes. Celine goes for minimal lines and Phoebe Philo dresses her models in black laser-cut leather tops and skirts and sews leather pockets on jackets and dresses. At Givenchy we saw leather and sheepskin jackets, leather lace-up boots and leather tops all combined with a vibrant goth make up. Loewe glams up classic cocktail dresses and creates a total leather look, and makes a more ladylike leather crop jacket. Isabel Marant transforms her collection by adding leather. Fierce jackets and crop leather pants paired with prints and bold colors create a modern rock n’ roll look. Tomas Maier for Bottega Veneta creates total leather looks by creating suits, or combining leather leggings with leather jackets.
How to wear it: Match your leather pants with a sweater in neutral colors for a more casual look, like Elle MacPherson or opt for a more severe styling by adding a blazer and high heels like Victoria Beckham. For a rock-chic look combine your leather pants and/or jacket with a silk blouse like Nicole Richie.

Personally I simply adore leather clothes and accessories; jackets, pants, leggings, boots everything-as long as they fit my style and they are of a good quality. I don’t really like “fake” leather as when you touch it its kind of sticky and all that. Well, to be fair some of the fake leathers I can stand, but please they shouldn’t be shiny and sticky!
