Review of the SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF serum

We’re always told how important antioxidant serums are so here’s my SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF serum review

A quick background, my skin is acne-prone and dry. The new serum might be most suitable for oily skin. SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF is perfect for dry and acne-prone/combination and the original Ferulic CE is most suited for anti-ageing.

This is a sad empty, which means it’s time for a review (when it comes to such products I always finish them first before reviewing)!!! I properly started using on the 7th of Jan (ie. daily) in the morning and it lasted me about 4 months.

One of the most iconic Vitamin C serums is the @skinceuticals Ferulic CE. I’ve actually never tried it, as the Phloretin is more suited to my acne-prone skin type. Now there’s a newer one, that’s perfect for acne-prone, oily skins, Silymarin CF. I’ll focus on Phloretin since it’s the one I’ve tried!

I’ve been using this daily, 6 drops on dry face in the morning before continuing my routine.

I was a little worried this had oxidized but customer service assured me that it’s okay to use for 6 months from the day of opening. However a word of warning – it might have been my specific serum – but the last week I was using this it smelt quite strongly of alcohol. From my experience when the vitamin C changes in scent it’s probably off. But since it was almost empty, it wasn’t as issue. However I recommend once you open it to be fully consistent with it so it doesn’t go off before your finish it!

I don’t have a big issue with hyperpigmentation (I have some PIE after spots/breakouts) but generally this helped even out my overall complexion. It was a great product and would highly recommend this to anyone. I know it’s expensive, but personally I’d rather use a cheap cleanser and moisturiser (like cerave) and spend more money on this serum.

Antioxidants are essential to protect our skin from free radicals and pollution. Using a vitamin C in the morning also helps the absorption of the UV rays by your sunscreen.

How to use – you need to have DRY skin, no water. Apply, pat it in and wait a few minutes before continuing with your routine. Always finish with spf please!

So is the Skinceuticals Phloretin CF serum worth it? YESS!!! As long as you can afford it. No skincare is worth going into debt for!!
