I love discovering new spots to eat in London and when something new pops up I am eager to try it, as I am usually a creature of habit. When I was invited to the opening of The Harcourt in Marylebone I was beyond excited.
The restaurant is a Victorian-style 3-storey building just off Marylebone Road, with carefully decorated interiors that gives off a very home-y and welcoming vibe. There are some big sharing tables as well as smaller ones surrounding the bar in the Garden Room. The exposed brick walls, opulent lights and contemporary artwork create a very pleasant atmosphere. We were seated upstairs on a sharing table that would also make a great setting for a birthday dinner.
The food was delicious; oysters are a must as a starter and the quail egg salad with salmon was also very good. That night there was a special menu for the opening, so we had a fewer options for a main (their full menu has anything from lamb to cod and artichokes); steak or fish and we opted for the steak – a great option for someone as hungry as we were that night!
I will definitely be back to try out some different dishes from the Nordic-inspired menu as well as some of their delicious cocktails!
