This would probably be how I would dress if spring or autumn in London was actually warm, so I am just pretending I am somewhere in California instead, and I think it’s somehow working! I love the look of Levi’s shorts with boots, especially this beautiful suede khaki pair by Sigerson Morrison. The belt makes it a bit cooler and laid-back and so does my favourite and super cozy khaki cardi by Madewell.
Living in London people (including me!) constantly complain or talk about the weather – it’s too cold, too hot, raining etc etc but sometimes it’s nice to enjoy whatever comes our way, no matter how crazy the changes in temperature are! In this case, the tartan plaid shirt and wool cardi keep me warm, even though my legs are exposed. I think that’s the best way to dress in this crazy weather, and I actually like this mix and match of seasons.
The denim Levi’s cut-offs are a super easy DIY, as I find that most vintage shorts are way too short for my liking. Just find a grade-A pair of 501’s on eBay (ex: here), take some good scissors and a cheese grater to create some nice fraying and that’s it! The Levi’s website offers a good guideline. They are so perfect for spring and summer and so versatile; from the beach with your bikini, and for a smarter look with a white crisp shirt.
