Opening Ceremony presented its capsule limited-edition ready-to-wear collection during London Fashion Week in February, a collaboration with the René Magritte Foundation.
It is the first time the Magritte Foundation collaborated with a brand and you can see the results for yourself below. Twelve reproductions of famous paintings from Magritte are included in the collection, such as Ladder of Fire and The Lovers.
The women’s range is comprised of light neoprene dresses, denim printed pencil skirts, zip tunics, twill fluted skirts and various jumpers.
In the men’s range, light waterproof jackets were shown as well as knitted sweaters, nylon coats and reversible nylon/neoprene jackets.
Pairs of Birkenstocks, Vans and Manolo Blahniks received a Magritte make over as well, featuring the classic styles of each of these brands; open toe, lace-up and stiletto respectively.
This collection represents the common point between art and fashion, while translating in an original and humorous way the iconic surrealist’s artwork.
Very interesting collaboration indeed, cannot wait for it to be in store next month.
