DIY hair wreath

This time last year I was getting excited for the line-up at Glastonbury and was dreaming of the weekend full of music and talent. Surprisingly I even managed to wear some flowers on my hair (photo below if you’re curious). So this hair wreath is the perfect accessory for summer music festivals or for any other sunny day, really.

You will need a flower wreath, scissors and tweezers.

Cut out the tag first of all. Find the beginning of the wire holding the flowers together and start unwrapping it, while taking out the flowers. image
Divide flowers and berries, half of the flowers and half of the berries will go on one side and the rest on the other.

You then take the central circle and push it in from both sides until you have a “C” shape. Put it on your head to see if it sits correctly.

At this point you can decide what shape you want your final design to have.
Take two flowers and tightly wrap them together. Use the tweezers to make the wrapped part as flat as possible.
Take your transformed circle and wrap the two flower parts on each side. Wrap not only their bottom part but also the individual flowers so that they hold better.

Then decide how you want the berry strands to be. If you want them to be standing on top or frame your face or be in the bottom behind the flowers. Continue with all the berries.

imageYou can wear it both sides as well. If you want to make the flowers more secure, wrap the wire all around the wreath, but it’s optional, I didn’t do it for mine. And that’s it!

Enjoy it with summer dresses in festivals or a walk in the park!
