Marion Bolognesi is an artist, illustrator and accessories designer based in Brooklyn, New York City. Her greatest passion is creating illustrative watercolour paintings. She has showed her work worldwide and collaborated with other artists as well.
Her most recent project is called “Watercolour Faces” a series of amazing watercolour paintings that focus on faces, mostly the eyes, nose and lips drawn in all the colours of the rainbow; pink, blue, orange, green.
They say the eyes are the window to the soul and Bolognesi seems to know that very well, in her work she pays close attention to the eyes and makes them jump out of the screen in an unusual way especially since she doesn’t draw a contour for the face. Happy, sad, angry expressions; she excels in all through her beautiful watercolour techniques.
I find her work really inspiring and since I pay most attention to the eyes and the face in paintings I find her work mostly intriguing. The white background she uses compliments and makes the vivid eyes and the bold colours stand out even more. Her artwork is beautiful and full of emotions.
