The CSM-taught duo behind palmer//harding, Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding were inspired by paper for their AW14/15 collection.
Using the simplicity and cleanness of paper as a starting point they created a collection that imitate the properties of paper; either smooth and white or crumbled up and marked with yellow highlighting pen.
Because of its simplicity, paper acts as a fresh canvas that has endless possibilities for transformation, and behind that lies the versatility that can give ideas for the mind to create (on paper).
Clean paper is beautiful and inviting to be used, held paper that starts to crumble shows its elegant transformation into a curve and torn apart it creates myriad of changes and textures that make it the best creative medium for strong shapes and movement.
Their colour palette continues to reference paper and the creative environment in which it can be found; bleach white, fluorescent yellow, accentuated by black, charcoal and rust.
Asymmetrical dresses, paired with biker jackets, silk wide-leg trousers paired with deconstructed tops or white shirts are shown, which create a wide variety of separates that can be mixed and matched. “Our collection isn’t intended for a woman in particular, its up to the woman to combine them,” says Matthew Harding.
