The Mulberry preview for SS14 was held at their headquarters; a lovely and spacious building just around High Street Kensington.

Clothing-wise the new collection has a lot of re-invented florals. Grey and silver embroidered skirts, white high-waisted palazzo pants with a 60s vibe (because of their shorter length) with thick white embroidered flowers on. Very dreamy.
As for the accessories, the shoes were the ones that were shown on the runway, thick heels with floral prints or patent heels. A versatile pair of shoes that nevertheless offers that extra something. The bags shown were the classic ones like the Bayswater and the Alexa but there were new shapes and colours too.

One of my favourite bags was the Suffolk, in the most amazing shade of blue as well as the ‘fiery red’ Willow Tote in hair-calf stripe (the front pocket can be zipped off and carried as an envelope on its own). Also the double envelope -the Willow clutch shoulder bag- can be carried with either side showing or can be unzipped and carried separately Very practical indeed – you buy one you get two!

Last but not least, the new Kensal collection. The Kensal shoulder bag is simple and clean with a briefcase lock and a long strap. In fact there will be a ‘bonus’ colour added called Bluebell Blue, an exclusive collaboration with Net-a-Porter.

And the Bayswater shoulder bag did not go unnoticed, especially the perforated blue and white version. Classic bag with a twist.

As far as collaborations go, there was a very interesting one in the men’s department, with Mr Porter.com. The five piece capsule collection will be launching later this month. The classic styles are presented in canvas: the Elkington briefcase in grey, the Brynmore dispatch style in black and the Clipper holdall in black, grey and blue (for the compact version).
MR PORTER Collaboration, Men’s
Nick Roberts, Managing Director of Mulberry in Europe said: “We have partnered with MR PORTER since launch and are delighted to be working more closely together to provide additional, exclusive versions in Mulberry’s iconic styles. Working with canvas adds a modern flourish, whilst retaining the elements expected in any Mulberry product; classic design, craftsmanship and hardware.”
Last on the collaborations wagon is one with Mackintosh that will be exclusive available on Net-a-Porter this month as part of the S/S14 collection. The classic coat will keep the signature, iconic style of the Mackintosh coat with Mulberry branded buttons featuring polka-dot sleeves and hood as well as a Mulberry heritage check detachable merino lining.
