Lush – New Oxford Street store

You don’t even need to be a fan of long bubbly baths to like Lush; the company that basically invented the bubble bar 20 years ago. Even though their bath bombs and bath melts are my favourites, there are so many things to choose from; shower gels, shampoos, face masks (their fresh face masks are so good) and so much more that there is something for everyone. I was so excited when I found out about their new store opening on Oxford Street. I was lucky enough to attend the press preview last week and thought I should report back. First off, the store is huge – it’s three floors and there are so many things to explore.

They have many new products that they launched with the new store (200 products will be launching within the next 18 months); such as this bath bomb, which I bought and am very excited to try out, they have many events and workshops, which you can see here and last but definitely not least, they have the Lush Spa.

We were actually shown around the spa and taken through the new treatment they offer ‘The Planets‘. It’s a 3-hour treatment that takes you through the past, present and future. The first room is an invigorating massage for 1 hour and 30 minutes, where you can talk to the therapist about the things that worry you if you wish – for example if tension is found in your back this may be related to a stressful week at work. Then you have tea and have your palm read, but this focuses on the present, so no predictions about the future here! This lasts 30 minutes. We actually got a short preview of palm readings ourselves; they tell you about your personality and how you are as a person, it was quite interesting. The last hour is a facial massage and treatment to clear up any last bits of tension. The treatment is £285, which is quite a lot but the specific treatments done separately would have been much more expensive! Of course Lush products are used throughout the treatments. The whole spa is decorated like an English cottage, and it definitely feels like you’ve entered someone’s home!

Check out the store below and make sure to pop in if you live in London!

The new store is also fully sustainable, as assessed by the SKA rating tool and reclaimed or vintage wood has been used throughout, which is so interesting to know. It shows Lush really takes sustainability seriously not only when it comes to their products. All of their products are based on fresh ingredients such as fruit and vegetables and everything is written on the label, so you really know what you’re putting on your skin!

Everyone needs some time out to relax and why not spend an evening pampering yourself? You deserve it!
