Greek Summer jewellery

I really like discovering new brands especially ones made in Greece by young creatives. I find it really inspiring, even more so in times of economic uncertainty. Such was the case when I received a beautiful silver necklace with a Shiva eye shell (“the eye of the sea” as it’s called in Greek) as a gift for Christmas.

Greek Summer is a jewellery line designed by Angeliki Dekoulakou. It’s inspired by the sea, sand and summer in Greece. Observing nature since she was a little girl, Angeliki enjoyed all the details; shapes, colours, lines etc and is a collector of pebbles, pieces of wood, snails, urchins.

While completing her graduate studies in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute she had to do a project where she had to combine primitive forms to create new ones. And these jewellery designs were first created, ranging from earrings, pendants, key rings and a men’s line. The idea behind it all was quite simple, she wanted to wear the sea!

Check them out below – they would make a perfect gift!
