If you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know that for skincare products I take my time to review them and try not to do first impressions, to ensure my views are solid. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy trying out new products so welcome to my new series ‘Five things I loved this week’ (I’m open to title suggestions!). This won’t just include skincare products, but also beauty, Instagram, things I’ve done, fitness or even food!
Instagram Live chatting about my favourite things with Lisa
Lisa Caldognetto is a makeup artist and she has a ‘My Beauty Wardrobe’ series on her Instagram. She invited me to join her and chat about my favourite beauty products. This was a difficult task when you have SO MUCH beauty! But it was fun and so so lovely chatting to Lisa. You can watch our live below. Tap on the post to see all the products I’ve mentioned!
Feeling a little creative
Covid has wiped us all out, but yesterday there was SOME sun, for literally one hour. I had checked the weather forecast and realised we won’t have sun for a while, so grabbed loads of beauty products I needed to photograph and had a little photoshoot in the middle of the day. Even though I’m not back on track in terms of how creative I feel, it was nice taking some photos and enjoying the sun for a little bit. It will probably be a while until I share the photos from Thursday’s session, but I shared a little TikTok video that perfectly sums up the situation.

#SkinTalks room on Clubhouse
If you’re not on Clubhouse, it’s a social media app based on voice sharing. And you can listen in different conversations, where CEO’s, founders, bloggers and anyone else can chat and you can listen-in their conversations. It’s invite-only and at the moment it’s iPhone only, but it’s been really fun! I try and join the #SkinTalks club whenever there’s a discussion on and this week’s talk was on the topic of ‘Acne cannot be cured, just managed’, which is a topic very close to my heart. As you know I have shared my acne journey in the past and it really annoys me when people say “THIS IS HOW I CURED MY ACNE”. If you’re on Clubhouse you can join the Skin Talks club HERE and make sure to follow the hosts for some amazing content across their social media.
A new toothbrush that works!
I’ve always been a fan of Oral B, it’s a well-established brand but well their styles are quite… Boring. Yes I hear you, you need a toothbrush that works well who cares what it looks like?! For the past few years I’ve been using the Foreo Issa 2 toothbrush (which I wrote about here) and I thought it was doing a great job. But I recently saw my dentist for a teeth cleaning and happened to have the brush in my bag. She said the sonic pulsations that the Foreo had, don’t necessarily clean the teeth. SO — it was clear I had to go back to Oral B and quickly discovered they have so many styles at the moment and some are very snazzy looking! A bit on the pricier side compared to other (basic) models they have, I ended up going for the Series io8, which comes in a pack of two brushes, so you can share with someone. It has different programmes depending on what you need (eg. daily clean, gum care, sensitive etc) and it also connects to your phone via Bluetooth on their app, to show you where you brush and if you’ve brushed enough, if you’ve applied too much pressure etc.
LED face mask!
It’s too early to see results, but I recently got the FaceLite LED face mask from Look Fantastic (you can get 20% off SO many products using my affiliate code LFTFFANI here). You’re meant to use it 4-5 times a week for a minimum of 4 weeks before you start seeing results. I’m now on week 2 and I’m loving it! I really hope it works, as LED can help with myriads of issues, from acne, to scarring, to wrinkles, pore size and general skin glow! Sounds pretty good right? I’ll post a full review on Instagram after I test it for a little longer, so make sure you’re following me @fani_breakeven.
See you next week!
