I haven’t written an art post in a while and decided to take on to Tumblr, the best place to discover art and anything else. I found the drawings of Italian Marie-Esther (or Gaia Alari) and was mesmerised by the detail in them and the way the person comes to life through her drawings. She’s actually studying medicine but creates the illustrations as a hobby.
For a Minute There I Lost Myself, 2014
Her illustrations tell a story; usually a dark one that denotes sadness. She creates using watercolours, pencils. She has a personal style of transparency, as if using different layers on Photoshop; where you can see through each of them and still see them as one.

It won’t hurt, 2015
I really like her work as it delivers certain emotions through all the different details and will be following her new work for sure.
